President Tinubu and his convoy were held in a heavy flooding today, as he fulfilled his promise by visiting Benue state

The flooding reportedly submerged the motorway of Makurdi-Lafita highway

A video broadcast by TVC showed a security convoy stranded in the rising waters along the major route connecting Nasarawa and Benue states.

The footage captured vehicles immobilised and security personnel assessing the situation, as floodwaters made passage impossible.

Meanwhile, recall that the Governor of benue state has been under heavy criticism over his preparation for Tinubu’s visit

The Governor had earlier declared, today, Wednesday 18th of June as a public holiday in the state to welcome the president

Also videos online showed how the state is being redecorated with banners of welcome plastered everywhere

We also saw government workers, working late into the night to make the state even more presentable ahead of the president’s visit

This has raised heavy criticism, as many called the governor who is a renowned reverend father wicked, for placing politics above the people of Benue

Furthermore, with this imminent delay and welcoming flood, it seems the Governor’s efforts may be thwarted
