Controversial Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, aka Terry G, brags that he is the first Nigerian artist to normalize the open display of cannabis smoking in Nigeria’s music industry.
In a post shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, the “Akpako Master” stated that his influence made it possible for today’s artistes to confidently smoke cannabis, also known as “Igbo”, on screen.
Terry G wrote:
“No hard feelings, it’s all love, but no forget say if no be my sacrifice, none of your fav go get liver to smoke Igbo for screen.”
According to him, before his rise to fame, many Nigerian musicians lacked the boldness to be as expressive or controversial on camera, especially when it came to depicting cannabis use.

Meanwhile, Nigerian rapper Panshak Zamani, aka Ice Prince, says he wishes he could quit smoking.
The Plateau-born artist stated that his knowledge of how to roll cannabis made it difficult to give up the habit.
Ice Prince said he regrets learning how to roll cannabis. He further explained that if he didn’t know, he would have been a moderate smoker or probably wouldn’t smoke at all.
In a recent episode of the Konnected Minds podcast, the Oleku superstar said
“One of the things that I wish I could unlearn is how to roll cannabis. I wish I had never learned that because if I hadn’t learned it, I would probably smoke with a bit of moderation or not even smoke.
“But because I know how to roll, I smoke whenever I wake or in the studio. I don’t let anyone roll cannabis for me. Don’t do drugs, I don’t mix cannabis with any crazy stuff. I wish I had never learn how to roll.”
