On Thursday, June 26, Justice Simon Aboki of the High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, sentenced gospel musician Timileyin Ajayi to death by hanging
Over the murder of Salome Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who had been his girlfriend for less than a year.
Ajayi was found guilty of k!lling and dismembering Adaidu,
and Justice Aboki found him guilty on one count of culpable homicide.
Recall that On Sunday, January 12, 2025, Oluwatimileyin, a gospel singer,
fitness enthusiast, and social media motivational influencer, was seen carrying a sac containing Salome’s severed head
close to a church in Orozo, a town that borders Nasarawa and Abuja.

Following his apprehension, he guided authorities to the fragments of Salome’s body that were still intact.
He was taken into custody and accused of one count of culpable murder
in violation of Northern Nigeria’s Penal Code, Section 221,
which carries a death sentence.
