US President Donald Trump has stated that he is developing a plan to establish a temporary visa program for undocumented immigrants who work in sectors such as hospitality and agriculture.
Trump stated recently on Fox News‘ “Sunday Morning Futures” that the objective is to grant these workers a legal status
that guarantees them to pay taxes and enables farmers to keep reliable labour rather than losing them to immigration sweeps.
We’re working on it right now,” Trump told Fox News. “We’re going to work it so that there’s some kind of a temporary pass
where people pay taxes, where the farmer can have a little control, as opposed to you walk in and take everybody away.”
Trump also recounts instances in which immigration officials came into fields and arrested labourers who had worked there for 15 or 20 years;
he claimed that these individuals were “good” but had “possibly come in incorrectly.”
He further maintains that it was unjust to eliminate farmers’ means of subsistence by taking away the very individuals who kept their businesses operating.

The farmer knows. He’s not going to hire a murderer,” Trump said. “When you go into a farm and he’s had somebody working with him for nine years doing this hard work, and you end up destroying a farmer because you took all the people away. It’s a problem.”
Trump Plans To Introduce A Plan That Makes Undocumented Workers Safe From ICE Crackdowns
The Department of Homeland Security, however, maintained its tough stance in a statement repeated from earlier this month. “The President has been incredibly clear.
There will be no safe spaces for industries who harbor violent criminals or purposely try to undermine ICE’s efforts,” the statement said.
DHS added that worksite enforcement remains key to protecting public safety, national security and the economy.
Furthermore, the proposal is yet another change in Trump’s administration’s stance on undocumented immigrants, particularly in the hospitality and agricultural industries.
In response to worries expressed by companies that they were losing dependable long-term employees, Immigration and Customs Enforcement temporarily suspended worksite arrests in the restaurant, hotel, and farming industries earlier this month.
However, that hold was lifted a few days later, and arrests started up again.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump himself admitted to the problem, saying that hoteliers and farmers informed him that immigration crackdowns were “taking very good, long-time workers away from them,
with those jobs being almost impossible to replace.” “We must protect our farmers… changes are coming,” he pledged.
Well we wait to see if this new stance by President Trump will yield a good results for undocumented workers
