Hanan Buhari Heavily Mourns Her Father’s Passing After Burial

Daughter of the late former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, Hanan, has taken to her social media account to mourn the passing of her father

Recall that the former president passed away on Sunday, 13th July, in a hospital in London, at the age of 82

The mother of two took to Instagram on Wednesday morning, July 16, to express her grief with a heartfelt message,

thanking Allah for the opportunity to give her father a final goodbye.

Further Sharing a photo of her holding Buhari’s hand in his final moment, she wrote:

The pain of your absence is immense, but I am finding strength in the love you gave me. You are the reason I know what unconditional love feels like.. I thank Allah for giving me the opportunity to give you the goodbye kiss.

“I will endure a lifetime of missing you for the privilege of loving you.”

Meanwhile the former President was laid to rest on Tuesday 15th July 2025, at his hometown in Daura, Katsina state

The government in a bid to honor Buhari had declared Tuesday as a public holiday, alongside a 7-day national mourning where all government actions will be suspended

Tunji-Ojo said the holiday is a gesture of respect for Buhari’s contributions to Nigeria’s democracy and development.

President Muhammadu Buhari served Nigeria with dedication, integrity,

and an unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of our great nation,” the minister said.

This public holiday provides an opportunity for all Nigerians to reflect on his life, leadership, and the values he upheld.”

Tunji-Ojo further asked Nigerians to use the day to promote peace, patriotism, and national unity in line with Buhari’s vision.
