In response to Donald Trump’s criticism of Russia President Vladimir Putin, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has sent a strong warning to Trump, threatening World War III.
In the midst of ongoing missile and drone attacks in Ukraine that have claimed numerous lives, Trump said he would “absolutely” consider further penalties against Moscow.
This further prompted the warning.
Taking to His X account, the former President wrote and we quote:
Trump’s remarks about Putin ‘playing with fire’ and’really horrible things’ happening to Russia — I only know of one REALLY horrible thing: WWIII, Medvedev wrote in a post on X. I’m hoping Trump gets this.
Medvedev was Russia’s prime minister from 2012 until 2020 after serving as president from 2008 to 2012.

Meanwhile, following a Russian drone strike that killed at least 13 people in Ukraine over the weekend,
And Trump’s dissatisfaction with his inability to stop the war, which he once said he could handle within 24 hours, has continued to grow.
In recent weeks, diplomatic efforts to end the war have increased, but Putin has been charged with holding up peace talks.
“What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realise is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia — and I mean REALLY BAD,”
Trump said in a speech on Tuesday, warning of “serious consequences.”
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal and CNN reported that new U.S. sanctions on Russia could be announced as early as this week,
although Trump did not go into detail about the specifics of the penalties.
Trump also told reporters on Sunday that he was “absolutely” thinking about making the move.
Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine
has not yet addressed Trump’s most recent remarks directly.
Earlier remarks from Moscow, however, accused Ukraine of inciting tensions
and asserted that it was reacting to a rise in attacks on Russian civilians.
In the last few days, Russian authorities have reported intercepting almost 150 Ukrainian drones,
including 33 that were en route to Moscow.
