There has been a widespread outrage against the WAEC examination council
over the lateness of examination carried out across several states of the nation
In the videos shared on popular blog, Ijeoma Daisy, students can be seen writing their exams very late at night, with some using torch lights
Many parents have called the attitude of the examination council as outrageous, from papers arriving late to invigilators arriving late
One of the parents wrote and we quote:
“My husband said he can’t let our daughter write it because of safety and that it’s better she repeats it but he had no choice than to follow her to the exam hall and asked me to stay home with other kids. He went there with cutlass and found other parents there with different guard weapons too like stick and cutlass for their children safety. They said they will all go home in groups.”

Another concerned Nigerian also shared her mom’s experience, she wrote:
“Called my mum and she said she just got home around past 9, apparently the invigilator came around past 6pm. I don’t even understand what’s happening in this country.”

Meanwhile recall that earlier in the year, parents had called out the UTME and Jamb bodies for the unusual timing for students to sit for their exams
As there were countless reports of kidnappings and students going missing while on their way to write their exams early in the morning.
With WAEC experiencing the same situation, there are currently calls for the minister of education to step down as He isn’t doing right with these bodies
