With three nominations, Ayra Starr led the Nigerian delegation to the 2025 BET Awards.
Meanwhile Shallipopi and Seyi Vibez are two other Afrobeats artists nominated for Best New Artist this year.
Ayra Starr won the Best International Act award by fending off competition from other international stars,
such as Nigerian hitmaker Rema and her labelmate.
She is the first female Nigerian artist to win the award for this accomplishment.
