Nigerian sensational singer, Simi, has called on her fans to stop calling her daughter Duduke
The singer and wife to Adekunle Gold, made this revelation when sitting in an interview with VJ Adams
According to Simi, Duduke isn’t her daughter’s name and it doesn’t actually mean anything

Some people call my daughter Duduke, which I don’t like. That’s not her name. It doesn’t mean anything,” she said. “Assuming it even means something good like blessing… but Duduke doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a beat — that’s what I meant. My heartbeat like a drum.”
She added that while she knows it comes from a good place, it’s still uncomfortable for her as a parent.
“I try not to react too much to that, but stop calling my child Duduke.”
Adekunle Gold and Simi welcomed their daughter, Adejare in 2020 and the latter had released a song to announce that she was pregnant that same year
The song “Duduke” became a viral one, with many pregnant women jumping on the challenge
It is however both hilarious and serious at the same time that many Nigerians haven’t moved on from the song
To the extent of calling the singer’s daughter Duduke
But it looks like Nigerians are not changing their stance at all
