“We Need Controversy To Eat” - Speed Darlington Apologizes Over R*pe Comment! -

Controversial singer and rapper, Speed Darlington has finally bowed to pressure and apologized over his raucous r*pe comment.

Recall that recently the rapper admitted on live to sleeping with a 15yr old girl and paying her 2,000 naira after the deed

This however led to a widespread call for the arrest of the rapper, as netizens believe that the said victim must have been coerced into the deed

Earlier after the call out, Speed Darlington has remained unshaken, going further to cuss out bloggers and even doing giveaway on his page

Also, another video surfaced of the rapper embroiled in another sexual incident with his 16yr old neighbor

All these allegations led to an even more intense call for the arrest of Speed Darlington

Meanwhile, Lagos state center for domestic violence and rape also issued a statement that investigations are currently ongoing

Further calling on eye witnesses and proofs to make a solid case against the embattled rapper.

However Earlier on Wednesday morning, Speed Darlington took to his Instagram to issue an apology to his fans and Nigerians

According to him, He was just looking for controversy to keep him relevant

He said and we Quote;

I am an artist! We need controversy. It is how we eat. You are not getting booked if you are not trending

The rapper’s apology has however been met with mixed reactions.

While some cautioned him to be careful with his words, others still strongly maintain that he did r*pe the girl

One commenter wrote and we quote:

Deep down, I believe he wasn’t just creating content. He actually did it

Another further commented:

The way you narrated the story baba, it didn’t just come from your head. You actually did it bro, you spoke from experience. Diabolical human being

It is however not clear if the Lagos state DVA will still continue to pursue the case with the rapper, despite his apology.
